Upward Coaches
What is required of an Upwards coach?
There are orientation trainings which you will be required to attend. Overall expectations:
- To be enthused and positive about the program.
- Promote a balance of skill building and Christian character.
- Run drills for practices.
- Coach the kids and maintain order in amount of time each child plays.
- Set tone for the game.
- Present star awards following each game affirming each child for various improvements.
- Oversee the devotional with the team immediately before or after the practice on Thursday evenings. Communicate changes to schedule or cancellations to the parents in a timely manner.
- Communicate concerns or issues with parents or children to the Upward Basketball League Director.
